Toilet Restaurant in Beijing

Have you heard about toilet restaurant? The original one is the one in Taiwan. These on in Beijing, is not the branch from the Taiwan one. It's actually small restaurant on the second floor with toilet theme. Worth to try and see.. For me, the food is average... The toilet themes is so funny.

The restaurant is located at DiAnMenWaiJie, 地安门外街91号。You can take bus no 107 and get off in 地安门外站.

24 Hours Dim Sum

金鼎轩 Jin Ding Xuan Restaurant is fame of the famous 24 hours dimsum restaurant in Beijing. I always go to the one near YongHeGong Lama Temple, you can go here simply by subway. It always crowded with people, also me and friends always eat too much in these restaurant. Hahaha..

That bun in the middle called Egg Yolk Bun (蛋黄沙包),

one time they're not selling anymore, but Thanks God, it's available again.

Everyone really love these buns, including me.

Bellagio Restaurant

This restaurant for me is interesting. Not because their delicious foods and desserts, but because their employee, all are short hair women. :) I dont have the picture, but check it yourself. I have their foods's pictures instead.. I went to Bellagio Zhong Guan Cun, the one that next to Easy Mall.

An Idiot Abroad : China

An Idiot Abroad is travel documentary follow Karl Pilkington, who travel to the seven wonders of the world. And the first episode is Beijing, China, where he visit the Great Wall of China. I write these blog post one day before my school trip. The school give us 2 choices, Great Wall or Beijing Opera. Since I already visited Great Wall, I choose Beijing Opera instead. (and just realised no blog post about Great Wall.. Hahaha..)

Tian An Men - Gu Gong - Bei Hai Gong Yuan - Kros Nest

No plan to do after lunch, and we decided to go to Tian An Men, 天安门 simply because I never been there before. It was National Holiday, so no surprised it will be crowded with so many people.

Bought China Flag for 2.5 RMB, and took photo in front of Tian An Men. Hahaha, so chinese!!

The stupid was me n friend bought ticket to go inside Tian An Men, but we just walking along with people, and just realised after in front of Gu Gong 故宫 or Forbidden City, when we saw our ticket is different with another people. When I asked the guard there, I think he was laughing inside, and said we just passed the Tian An Men. So we're decided to throw the 5 RMB Tian An Men ticket, and get Gu Gong's ticket. Luckily we are the last person standing in one of the mobile tickets line, because the ticket was almost done.

Go Inside Gu Gong, and it's too many people inside..

After Gu Gong, we're decided to go to the nearest place, that is Bei Hai Gong Yuan 北海公园. It's a public park located not far from Forbidden City. We walk about 20 minutes, and arrived at the park. Unlucky, we didn't get student price. :(

On our way home, well, we both never been there and there were no subway station nearby. Then, we went to bus station and try to found if there was a bus to the nearest subway station or just bus station we familiar with. My friend said to go to XiSi 西四，there was a bus go there but we are not so sure. Then I found one that go directly to 圆明园 Yuan Ming Yuan, since we're going to met friends at Kros Nest. But the bus was never come, so my friend suggested to go to Xi Dan 西单商场. It was so crowded and so many people desperately want to go home.

When the bus came, all people just like zombies, went to that bus and start "attacking" want to go inside. My friend was already inside, but me still on the outside trying to get inside, but it was so crowded and there was no space left. So I gave up and wait for another bus. When the another bus came, it was got stopped before the station, and it was exactly like the same. But right now, I got inside. Hahaha..

It was a bit misunderstanding between me and my friend. I thought we're going to Kro's Nest by bus, since there was one bus from XiDan directly to Kro's Nest. And My friend thought we're going there by subway. Since we're afraid of the trafic, we're decided to go there by subway to Yuan Ming Yuan 圆明园 , then by bus.

About Kro's Nest. You can find these restaurant on SanLiTun 三里屯，it's located beside VICS club. But there was another one in YiHeYuanLuKou 颐和园路口, you can go there by bus 331, 690, etc.. They served big pizza.. and it's so big.. and delicious.. My favorite is Lao Beijing, the pizza with roasted duck. Nyummy..

Food Inside BLCU

These post are related to the food situation before the new dining halls are finish built. Right now, the old canteen and including Diamond Restaurant and Muslim Restaurant were already moved to the new places.

These is the situation when I was studying on spring semester 2010.

Inside BLCU, there are also many restaurants to try.

Diamond Restaurant

With selection of International Dish, from Japanese food to Indonesian food, they serve Indonesia's Oxtail Soup too. :) With price range up to 40 RMB. The First BLCU Restaurant, I went to eat.

BLCU Canteen

BLCU have 2 canteen, but it's connected, the old one is the one near South Gate, it's local student canteen serve chinese foods. It's typical canteen, where you choose which one you want to eat. On the 2nd floor, it's like food court, with many counter. 

If you want to eat in these canteen, you need BLCU Food Card. To get the food card, click here, it has been posted by another blogger.

The other one, is located on the back of the old one, they said it is International Students Canteen. The two canteen building is connected. On these canteen, on downstairs, the same typical ordinary canteen, where you choose what you want and pay.

On the 2nd floor, there are restaurants located there. There are sandwich places, Japanese food restaurant, and chinese restaurant. I love the food there.

There are many selections of sandwich, pizza and salad there. 

If you buy sandwich on the evening, they give discount.

And in afternoon, they give free drinks.

The Japanese Restaurant is called Momoya,

It's the same restaurant chain with Momoya Restaurant inside Xi Jiao Hotel, behind BLCU.

My Favorite Dishes on Chinese Food Restaurant on 2nd floor.

The Sandwich and Japanese Restaurant are managed by the same management who owned HOPE,the restaurants located below dorm 4. They also manage the Karaoke room near gym and coffee shop on library. There are same selection of food in their restaurants. But not everything.

Hot Pot

There is another restaurant behind Coretto Bar, shabu shabu restaurants. The concept is the same with Xiabu Xiabu. And the price is almost the same. 

CC Restaurants

On the first floor of BLCU Conference Centre, there are Chinese Food Restaurant and Japanese Food Restaurant. The Chinese Food Restaurant is managed by the hotel, you also have breakfast there if you stay in CC. And the Japanese Food Restaurant is the same with the one located near East Gate of BLCU, the one near KFC.

My Favorite on CC Restaurant

The sushi are half price on the evening, the reason why I want to have dinner on the restaurant near KFC.

I don't know if the new one on the first floor of CC is have the same promotion or not.

There are another restaurants inside BLCU, like Muslim Restaurants, Coretto Bar and the one near Friendship Store. But I'm not yet tried the food there. The Muslim Restaurant, I had tried. I like the bread, my friend love the caramel apple they have.

Food around Wu Dao Kou part 2

If you like Korean Dish like me, there are another places you need to visit, from South Gate of BLCU, go right then go straight until you see U-Centre, before Cinema, there are intersection, then go left, straight, the restaurant complex are in the end of the road, you just need go across the street. ( another intersection after Bank Of China ).

I never remember the name of the restaurant, I always follow my friend to go there. But these some photos of the food served there.

Korean BBQ Restaurant, on the left side, but i dont know the exact location, I just knew. 

In front of BOC, there are also many Korean Dish Restaurant there, along the street, one of them is Goerak, i don't know the right spelling, the restaurant is located beside Pepper Bar. It's another Korean BBQ Restaurant, but these one is the best one. My Korean friend also love it.

After turn left on the road before Cinema, you can go to the Red House, on the right side of the road, they serve great pizza and cheap beer, many foreign students love to go there.

P.S : It takes a while to gather all the photos, and WuDaoKou have a lot restaurants.. These is the list I can gather for short time..

Tonkatsu

Tonkatsu and Curry Rice, price : 20-40 RMB

From BLCU South Gate, turn right, then go straight. You will find it after KFC and Subway Station.

Pizza Hut
Another branch of fast food chain. You can get discount with Student Card.

Pyro Pizza
All you can eat on lunch time until 2pm, only 39 RMB with 4 selection pizza and soft drink free flow.

LaBamBa

Mexican Restaurant, located above Propaganda Club, with great promotion of Hamburger on Monday, Sandwich on Wednesday, and Buritos on Friday for only 10 RMB before 7 pm. Crowded on lunch time.

From BLCU South Gate, go right, go straight after subway, then turn left, go straight until you see Propaganda Club, there will be door on the left. After Pyro Pizza.

Jajangmyeon

I don't know the name of the restaurant, but they popular with Jajangmyeon, the korean dish of black soybean paste on top of noodles. You should try it!! And with price less than 20 RMB.

From BLCU South Gate, go right then go straight until Cinema, Wu Dao Kou Dian Ying Yuan 五道口电影院, on the back of the cinema ( just walk to the left corner of cinema building ), there are many korean restaurant there, go inside the building ( the restaurant, not the cinema ), on first floor or 2nd floor, same restaurant, or in the front of the building. 

Bibimbap

Inside the same building, on first floor, the left shop, you will find amazing korean dishes. I love to eat there..

Bibimbap is the left one, the rice with many vegetable on top. Try also gimbap, korean sushi. They have many selection you can choose.

Crystal Korean BBQ

On the same building, there are small door to basement, where you can find nice korean bbq, cook with crystal plate. There are new place on the same building, on 1.5 floor. 

Holdak

The crispy deep fried chicken korean style, with great free salad. It's so delicious. Just write these post, made me hungry and want to eat there. And I can't find the photo, It means I always come there and eat directly. I think.

Xiabu Xiabu

You can find it everywhere, it's franchise restaurant in China. You will  find it one on every shopping mall.

I love xiabu xiabu, usually eat at HuaLian U Centre. and it always crowded with many people.

Usually, I'm going there on evening, take number and went to BHG, buy drinks, then wait in front of the restaurant again.

王府井 Wang Fu Jing

My teachers said, China People not eat that kind of foods everyday. They sell it on WFJ as part of entertainment. If you aware, you will see many Local Tourist ( who are not Beijinger ) hang around there.
